What is the difference between an account owner
and account manager?
An owner can be an individual user, a team (recommended)
or everyone. An account manager is the person who has
a face-to-face relationship with the customer. Security
in SalesLogix is based on ownership of an account. That
is, whoever owns an account can edit or delete an account.
I want to locate a contact by her first name,
but the lookup function accessed by clicking on the Contacts button
only searches last names.
From the Menubar at the top of your screen,
select Lookup/Contacts/First Name.
I want it known that there is an association
between two contacts, but I am not certain everyone will know to go
to the Associations tab. Is there a way to present this information
so it is visible immediately?
Yes. SalesLogix can be “customized” so
that this information, and just about any other kind of
information, can be displayed in the top area of the detail
view. Contact your SalesLogix Business Partner for more
information.
I would like to put
my tabs in alphabetical order. Can I do this?
Yes! To move your tabs, click on the tab with your mouse’s left-button
and hold the mouse button down. Slowly move the mouse left or right towards
where you want the tab, and you will see the icon change to a small hand moving
a paper. Release it over the tab you would like the moved tab in front of.
I don’t use
all the tabs I have. How can I remove the ones I don’t use and
put up the ones I do use?
Right-click on any tab to see a list. If you don’t
want to view a tab, make sure it is unchecked; likewise,
if you wish to view a tab, make sure it is checked. If
the tab you want to display is not on this list, go to “More
Tabs,” select the tab from the list on the left,
and drag the name up to the other tabs, releasing it when
the icon changes to a small hand moving a paper. If the
tab is still not visible, right-click on any tab and make
sure it is checked. If you have dragged the name to the
tabs and it still does not show up on the list, contact
your Administrator to be sure the tab has been released.
I have accidentally
removed all my tabs, including “More Tabs,” and now I can’t
right-click to get any of them back!
Move your mouse slowly between the top and bottom sections of the detail view
until the up-down arrow is visible. Pull the separator down a bit to make a
black bar visible. Right-click on that black bar and check any of the tabs.
Once at least one tab is visible, you can then pull the separator back up.
Many times, when I
switch either from the contact screen or to another contact, I get
a picklist for a field. How can I stop this from happening?
Check with your Administrator, and let him/her know which field this is occurring
for. The field is probably set as a required field with the Picklist Manager.
We have some new employees
coming on board, and we want them to learn SalesLogix as fast as possible.

a training session.
What is the difference
between a Lead Source and a Campaign?
A Campaign is an action to target groups
of potential customers or leads, for example, a direct
mailing. A Lead Source is the source of a specific lead,
for example, a campaign or a trade show.
